Description
Title: Calibration Test Technician

Role Summary:
The desired individual will assist in the setup and conduct of various mechanical and electrical calibration verification tasks for measurement and test equipment supporting the production of commercial avionics, space and infrared imaging products.  The ideal candidate's experience should include the calibration of test measurement and diagnostic equipment including multimeters, oscilloscopes, signal generators, attenuators, loads, power supplies, frequency counters, temperature chambers, thermocouple devices, pressure, ESD controlling equipment, calipers, weight scales, and torque devices.

Duties:
•Calibrate measurement and test equipment in order to ensure compliance with published specifications.
•Perform maintenance for and support troubleshooting and repair of precision test equipment.
•Develop calibration procedures and methods, according to detailed specifications, blueprints, drawings, and other technical requirements.
•Collect, compile, measure, summarize, and record data gathered during calibrations to prepare calibration reports and certificates.
•Identify out-of-tolerance conditions and perform corrective action via adjustments, component replacement, correction factors, etc.
•Understanding of measurement errors and contributing factors that may result inaccurate measurements.
•Interact with other technicians, management, internal customers, equipment manufacturers, and vendors


Essential Skills and Responsibilities
•Required to follow detailed test procedures with limited supervision.
•Experience with electronic theory, physical/dimensional principles, and calibration methodologies.
•Must be able to perform general math and algebra functions
•Must possess good written and oral communication skills
•Technical writing ability
•Intermediate ability to troubleshoot, align and optimize precision equipment.
•Intermediate computer skills including the ability to follow software driven test programs
•Working knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite of programs.
•Strong attention to details

Qualifications
•Precision Measurement Equipment Laboratory (PMEL) Air Force certification or equivalent training.
•3 years calibration experience.
•Experience with Fluke MetCal, Fluke MetTrack/MetTeam, and Fluke MetCal Editor
•Working knowledge of ISO 17025, ANSI Z540.1, and ANSI Z540.3 standards.
•Working knowledge of measurement uncertainty calculation
•Working knowledge of Guard banding methods
•Willingness to work off-shifts occasionally
•Must be a self-motivator, work as a team player, and follow written procedures.

•Strong interpersonal skills, such as communicating well with customers, management, engineering and manufacturing as well as other disciplines of the organization, are essential for this position.
•This position requires an individual who is team oriented and proactive in resolving work issues.

Physical Requirements
•Ability to frequently move test equipment weighing up to 25 pounds to test benches or to carts for transport to other areas of the facility. Occasionally lift equipment greater than 25 pounds with assistance.
•Ability to occasionally position self by climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling.
•Constantly operate a computer and read testing procedures off of a monitor.
•Ability to stand or sit for long periods as testing requires.
•Capability to move about inside lab, office, and manufacturing environments.
