Anyone have the service manual for the 8902A in pdf?
I need schematics/component location for AT1 and the control signals that drive it.
I have the 8902A Svc Manual (various volumes) which include schematics. I saw some references. But I didn't have time to dig through them. I believe this manual should still be available. Vol 3 has schematics (08902-90024). I also have Vol 1 (08902-90001, and 08902-90029 - 3rd Edition); Vol 2 (08902-90002 and 08902-90029 - 3rd Edition), etc. I also have a combined 1, 2, 3 in a 52 MB PDF file.
The 20db attenuator in AT1 was failing to unlatch. As it turns out, simply giving it a mechanical assist put it back to functional but I'm looking for spare parts. It's an odd solenoid.
Look for my PM.
I am working on getting you the manual you need. However, if this attenuator is of the family found in many signal generators, spectrum analyzers, etc., there is a company, Test Equipment Plus, that is the only place that refurbishes those. They support a really large number of models. If it is one of them, it will be listed on their website. You just pull the attenuator and send it in to them for refurb for a few hundred dollars. Turn around time is a few weeks. They do good work. I have been using them for years.
+1 Test Equipment Plus

I called Test Equipment Plus. Their prices are reasonable, they are blanket prices and they use all new parts for repairs. their guarantee and test procedures sound very solid.
I've had other repair experiences where the vendor simply kept the parts they replaced without asking me first and the repair costs always ended up quite different from what was quoted.
I can't get parts for my 8902A so when AT1 finally fails I'll likely use Test Equipment Plus.
I am glad people are still using 8902s
