Title: Keysight PSG Phase Noise msmt
Post by: Bryan on 08-22-2016 -- 12:16:59
Just curious if anyone alse here is running ssb & residual phase noise on the Keysight PSG with E5505A system.  Running mine iaw the help file instructions for the N7800 software and ssb takes about 16 minutes, residual 20 per msmt.  How about you?
Fiddling around with the averages to see if I can get faster w/out compromising msmt integrity.
Thanks

That's about the norm here as well. SSB is a little faster, but yes, Residuals take forrrrrrreverrrrrrrr.

Forever is the Norm. No way to speed it up unless you have an E5052B w/ E5053A

Be careful using the E5052B w/E5053A... pay close attention to the what it is spec'd for.

Love the Agilent E5052A/B's. We have a customer who has some that we calibrate.  Really nice.  Takes deep pockets, I think, to be able to afford them.
