Sorry but what do you mean no clock to punch?
Sounds like they are saying salaried... or in other words 50+ hours a week for 40 hours of pay....
OHHH in other words when the clock punches you!!!
Being that its illegal to not pay overtime to a non-exempt employee (just keeping it simple there are a few rules, suffice to say that its hard to not have to pay OT) My guess is that hours worked is on the honor system.
Yes, but SALARIED people are EXEMPT...
That is 100% not true.
There are specific requirements that must be met in order for a person to not qualify for overtime pay according to the FLSA.
It would be very hard to categorize a technician as exempt

Actually according to the new rules. Salaried employees making under $47,476 now qualify for overtime pay starting Dec 1.
Are you sure the new overtime rules have been put into effect?? I thought that Obummer was still working on that?

Ok that's what I thought it is not in effect yet. Also most "good" calibration techs will be making more than $48,000 per year anyways so this really will not change anything on this job. Unless they lowball their techs and try to pay them like $20 an hour or something...
I've had a company try to low ball me before. I have over 8 years experience and they wanted minimum of 5. They wanted someone who was well rounded and could get on the job and run with it like hell. They wanted to pay me $15 per hour. This job may seem like its a road warrior job. Get the company vehicle and drive times aren't paid. You get paid when you get to the job site kind of deal. That's why no clock to punch. I've had a guy try to do that to me before. Not cool
