The Bionetics Corporation is seeking qualified candidates for the Mechanical Calibration Specialist.
POSITION TITLE: Calibration Specialist, Mechanical
LOCATION: Kennedy Space Center, FL
SUPERVISOR: Laboratory, Technical Manager
CLASSIFICATION: Non-Exempt
HOURS: Monday - Friday, First Shift
(typically 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM)
SALARY: per CBA ($32.34/Hr.)
JOB DESCRIPTION: Calibrate and repair physical, mechanical, and dimensional measuring and test equipment.
EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:
1. Requires completion of the US Air Force's PMEL school (highly desirable) or equivalent:
a.) Two (2) year technical college or university program in science, technology, or math, and two (2) years of experience in calibration or testing,
b.) OR at least five (5) years of related experience working in a calibration laboratory may be substituted for the completion of the US Air Force's PMEL school. Applicants must provide proof of education, training, and experience.
BASIC REQUIREMENTS:
1. Must be a U.S. Citizen.
2. Must be eligible for, or have successfully completed a National Agency Check Investigation within the last ten (10) years.
3. Employability in the U.S. and pre-employment drug screen required.
4. Must have and maintain a valid Florida Driver's License.
5. Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English.
6. Ability to use a personal computer in the performance of automated calibration processes and for workload management and tracking as required.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
Essential/Typical Duties:
•Follow documented procedures to calibrate, adjust, and repair physical, mechanical, and dimensional measuring and test equipment.
•Assist in developing and validating new measurement methods, calibration. procedures, and measurement uncertainty budgets.
Non-Essential Duties:
•Performs related duties as required.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Lifting/Moving Requirements:
•Lifting/Moving Requirements – up to 50 pounds
•The ability to perform repetitive hand and arm movements when calibrating certain TMDE.
Environmental Conditions:
•Normally works in an environmentally controlled laboratory setting.
•Occasionally works at customer sites to include outdoors.
