I believe that's the same contract Syprus used to advertise back in the back in the late 2000's.

Actually Tektronix was the most recent contract. Great job if you love to travel. Lots of work to be done on a tight schedule in some challenging environments and conditions. Keeping up with all of the logistics of it is the hardest part; staying on schedule and getting hotels sometimes a different one every night or 2 and arranging for flights back home. Great for hotel and flight reward programs.

Great for travel rewards not so great for seeing your family and or staying married.. Tektronix wanted me to be on the road from Monday till the FOLLOWING Thursday.. So you lose 2 weekends a month and they only wantedto pay me about $2 more an hour. That is crazy.

Tektronix bought Sypris, so you are both correct.

Is it bad that I worked for them when Syprus was Metrum.  Old...I feel old.

Yes you are very very ...very old. When was that? I was with them for Bell Technologies then Sypris then Sypris test and measurement then Tektronix...I seem to remember hearing about Metrum once in a galaxy far far away...

So far it's been a gas. I am currently in Grand Junction, CO, and it's the most beautiful place I have ever seen. The Book Cliffs are overlooking the Grand Mesa. It's high desert country up here. The trailers are lock, stock, and fully loaded with all of the hardware/software needed to fully automate most calibrations. So far it's been a wonderful experience. As far as per diem and hotels go...priceline, expedia, etc...are invaluable and make traveling economical. I've traveled through 6 states so far and have yet to pay anymore than half the per diem rate at a hotel. I've mostly used priceline. For example: I called a local hotel...three stars...and they quoted me some rates that fluctuated on a dial basis from 80 to 120 per night. However, I hit up priceline's express deals and booked the same hotel for less than 60. You just have to do your homework a bit and know how to take advantage of the deals that these traveling companies are able to score. So...it's possible to get some nice rooms for cheap rates. If y'all have any questions, let me know. But I have to go...the local FAA manager mapped out a nice little route that takes me around to several local spots that highlight the beauty that is Western Colorado. Cheers and Hafa Adai!
Come join the wonderful team!! You'll be glad that you did!!

If I was not in such bad health right now I'd jump on this because not only did I go to Cal school (in Denver), I also held many Navy air traffic control maintenance NECs. Including the FAAs ASR-8 (DOD AN/GPN-27)
NEC as well...
