NEWLY SEPARATING MILITARY PMEL TECHNICIANS NOW GETTING OUT OF ACTIVE DUTY ARE WELCOME TO APPLY.
We are looking for well rounded PMEL technician with electrical/electronic/RF microwave lab experience, along with Physical/Dimensional calibration skills.
Able to follow military calibration procedures, and properly substitute measurement standards using minimum use specifications. Should be able to work independently with some local travel (very little over night travel required). Valid drivers license, Graduate of military calibration school (PMEL) or equivalent. Able to lift at least 50 lbs.
Primary calibration skills should include a wide variety of electronic/electrical test equipment including (but not limited to): DMM's, function/pulse generators, electrical instruments, RF generators and analyzers, oscilloscopes, as a sample.
Desired physical/dimensional calibration experience in pressure, weight, torque, force, calipers, micrometers and general instruments. Should be familiar with good metrological techniques for making appropriately accurate measurements (temp coefficients, use of proper grade gage blocks, proper handling of instruments).
Should be familiar with use of Microsoft Office, including Excel and MS Word, and recall databases.
Added desirable skills include use and procedure programming of MetCal. Also desirable are calculation of measurement uncertainty, and development of uncertainty budgets in accordance with ISO17025.
This is an immediate opening. Successful applicant should be available to move to Austin area and report to work as soon as possible.
