"This position has a competitive base salary with commission incentive. We offer a comprehensive benefits package, including health and dental insurance, 401K, profit sharing plan, enhanced insurances, stock purchase plan, paid vacation, sick days, and holidays."  does any of this apply to "on call" employees?

For this position we're really looking for individuals that are currently working and would like to pick up some additional hours throughout the week. The actual hours and shifts may vary per week.

Jimmyc - We do apologize for the confusion. The on call employees are actually not eligible for any of the Company's benefits. The posting has been modified to reflect this change. Thank you for bringing this to our attention.

Please feel free to contact me directly if anyone has any additional questions.

Sincerely,
Eric Flood

A little further clarification please. Would this work be strictly in the labs? Also I would have to assume most people have a full time job so these hours would be after that full time job is done for the day? Trying to wrap my head around this but I have never heard of Transcat doing anything like this.

The original posting looks to be written for a full time employee, but it also states "Successful candidate must be prepared and willing to perform essential functions in the lab or at a customer site (some overnight travel may be required)."

An ideal candidate would come out retirement and work whenever the company needs them. They at least state the job is for full time people to work additional hours. Alot of companies have 2 shifts...so working in the evenings would be perfect.

People who know me personally come to understand that I am either very serious, or not serious at all.  I should take this opportunity to say that my Great Grandmothers MARRIED name was Call.  No real bearing here.

RFCAL. I would think if the money was good and you had a regular 9-5 job with little OT this could be a good opportunity for someone to earn some cash on the side. Other than that I can see your point. On top of that most techs that are in calibration could not do this as their real jobs probably have a no compete clause.
