Position Description:
He/she is responsible for performing a variety of work functions related to equipment calibration and maintenance of the electronic equipment calibration system. Candidate will test, calibrate, troubleshoot and repair electrical, mechanical, electromechanical and electronic measuring, recording and indicating instrumentation and equipment for conformance to established standards.
Candidate will develop written calibration procedures, schedule calibration activities (internal and external), perform equipment calibration and repair, ensure proper documentation of calibrations results, and maintain the equipment calibration database. Must be proficient with mechanical equipment calibration methodologies, troubleshooting and repair. Support process and equipment validations (as needed), and assist with out-of-tolerance equipment investigations, as necessary.
Job Requirements:
• Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Calibration or Biomedical Electronics Technician.
• Certified Calibration or Biomedical Technician desired but not mandatory.
• Formal training in Metrology, such as the Precision Measurement Equipment Course (PMEL) or TMDE gained through the military is highly desirable and/or an Associate's Degree, preferably in a technical discipline specific to calibration and instrumentation
• Must possess a valid driver's license with a clean driving record.

I have over 20 years experience working as a civilian in an Air Force PMEL (precision measurement equipment laboratory) and 4 years active duty as a Comm/Nav tech. I have worked with schematics,blue prints, manufacturers drawings, technical orders, SOP's, P & I drawings. I have done electronic repair and troubleshooting to the component level. I have been certified by NASA in Category I, II and III soldering techniques. I have worked for major pharmaceutical companies and I am familiar with FDA regulations and rules. I have reciently completed a contract assignment with Hospira where I was a Field Service Engineering Technician and I was required to travel 80% of the time across the Country doing modifications ,troubleshooting and repair to the component level medical devices.
I have attended the USAF Technical School program on Principles of Metrology. I am willing to travel and work overtime and weekends.
