Anyone ever used one of these or have an opinion on it?

This is not an official inducement, because we are only a calibration lab.  But what little I have worked with them they seem to make some pretty good equipment.

What little I saw on it the product seemed to have some pretty good features. I would be worried about longevity. Also I need to take some time and compare it to a Fluke 5520A and see how close it is accuracy wise.

It seems to compare better with the 5500's than the 5520's.

I see they also sell a 4000 series I wonder how it compares?

I haven't seen an actual unit, but they do spec their stuff quite accurately. Their highest accuracy DMM seems to be very accurate, and have some pretty wide range, apparently attempting to compete with the Fluke 8508A.  It at least has some very good spec numbers.  The question is how well it actually does.

I just looked, and it appears they will have a booth at the NCSLI conference.  I'll have to make a point of visiting the booth.  I also wonder what the price to spec comparison is.

I think their 8000 series 8-1/2 digit DMM is a reincarnation of the old Solartron/Schlumberger 7081; which in it's day was a very good meter (but hard to use).

Now that you say that, that does ring a bell.  Interestingly, when you look inside a Fluke 8508A, there are some Datron markings. I am thinking the 8508A was an unfinished product from Datron from before they were bought.  I'd be interested if anyone knows anything about that connection as well.

But I did watch their demo video on their website about the highest accuracy DMM.  It looked pretty nice.  I plan to take a look during the upcoming NCSLI conference.

We've had a Transmille 8081 bench meter for a couple of years now. It's an accurate meter, but not the most user friendly at first. It has that European feel to it, but I got used to it.

Had one in for cal, met 12 mo specs after about 18 months with the client (yes it was over due!)

IMO, the interlace was kinda haphazard / not user friendly could just be unfamiliarity.

Always been curious about their products.  I believe they will have a booth at the NCSLI conference coming up in Grapevine TX.  I hope to visit and try them out there.
