Title: Does Anybody Listen to Podcasts?
Post by: Thraxas on 02-10-2006 -- 15:07:55
If you do, what are they?  Here's a mostly complete list of the ones I listen to on a semi-regular basis. Most of my list consists of technology podcasts.

this Week in Tech, Inside the Net, and Security Now

Battlestar Galactica podcast

I'm alway looking for new ones. If anyone can suggest some new ones, that would be great.

I don't. Maybe in the future. Frankly I grow weary of Apple related terms - pod this or that and I this or that.

Earbuds are bad for you.

Webcasts, audiocasts, blogcasts, pre-recorded internet radio, etc. Whatever term works for you. "Podcast" just seemed to be the term of the moment. Which is funny because people had been making the things well before the iPod ever came out. BTW I don't use earbuds. They're uncomfortable as is without the sound.

I'm gonna show a bit of ignorance here, remember , happy valley only got television last year............what the f**k is a pod cast?

Aaaahh...did you click on any of the links? You probably could have figured it out that way. Here's a Wikipedia definition:

A podcast is a web feed of audio or video files placed on the Internet for anyone to subscribe to, and also the content of that feed. Podcasters' websites also may offer direct download of their files, but the subscription feed of automatically delivered new content is what distinguishes a podcast from a simple download or real-time streaming.

Wikipedia entries are always changing, but that's more or less the basic definition. If your next question is, "What the f**ck" is Wikipedia?". I'd tell you to look it up on Google. 8-)

You should try listening to that Lost one, Flynn. It'll give you a little insight into the show. I know it drives you crazy each week. :-D
