Title: METCAL, VISA, and Standards
Post by: cwoneal on 05-22-2014 -- 15:56:35
So here is a question for the group. Has anyone wrote procedures where one of the standards used to test the UUT is controlled by USB. Just wondering if there is any insight to this. Thanks

The VISA FSC will not work for a Standard.  It only works for the UUT.  You can cheat the system if there UUT you are testing does not have any I/O.

Next year we will be releasing a better solution to the problem as we build out more features to Metrology.NET.
One of the actions items we have is to build a communications adaptor to the Agents.  This will allow developers to build out specialized test process. Then call them from any calibration environment.
