8902A not wanting to store sensor data. Do I need to replace the internal battery? Battery obsolete per Agilent. Any replacement available?
I'm just 'spitballing' here, but I would think the battery problem would be where if you unplug the unit (or maybe just turn it off) it wouldn't retain memory. Just my wild guessing. But not taking the inputs at all, maybe some other memory problem. I always have a fun time entering that data (have to print out the instruction sheet from the operators guide each time).
I was thinking the same as Hawaii on this one
If the battery was shorted rather than just bad it would keep the memory ckt from loading data...
Good catch. I hadn't thought of that one.
saw it with the HP 3458A DMM battery before
you can check that very easy remove the old battery and connect a power supply or external batery and see what happens
Set the current limit on the power supply..
I neglected to do that once before and lets just say the Army had to buy a new piece of test equipment.
Mike.
