Just started making a profile and was wondering if it was worth my time?
there is a lot of good info, but i have not heard of anyone finding a job they couldnt find outside linked
I've never really pursued a job through Linkedin. I've been on it a number of years, and think of it as a general networking site. Kind of analogous to facebook (not like facebook, just analogous). Facebook you use to stay in touch with friends. Linkedin, you use to connect to professional. I'm connected to professionals around the world through Linkedin. It doesn't take much time for me (as I'm not at all addicted to networking sites - and plenty of actual real life work to keep me busy).
I think its worthwhile as a way to stay in contact with your professional world.
HRs are starting to use it as a filtering tool to help screen out posers and wannabes...
Nope, more like Facebook for business people. Most of my jobs were found the old fashioned way...bribery and subterfuge...
but seriously, I don't think I've used a single "connection" on LinkedIn to get a job (unless I knew them beforehand)
Cal Lab Magazine. I know I may be a little bios, but the pages that get the most views are the main page and the job listings and resumes.
And we will post any technician's resume for free. The only down side is people you work for will know you are looking for a job.
Mike.
Hard to say. I've worked here quite a bit longer than LinkedIn had been in existence.
