PMEL Technician at Beale AFB, California
POSITION TITLE: PMEL Physical Dimensional Technician
LOCATION: Beale AFB, California
SUPERVISOR: Lead Technician
CLASSIFICATION: Non-Exempt
HOURS: Full-Time Monday thru Friday (40 Hrs.); some overtime may be required
SALARY: $32.95 per hour (CBA Wage)

JOB DESCRIPTION:
The PMEL (Precision Measurement Equipment Laboratory) technician is responsible for providing calibration and repair services on complex physical/dimensional equipment in the Precision Measurement Equipment Laboratory. Applies advanced technical knowledge to solve problems that typically cannot be solved solely by referencing manufacturer's manuals or similar documents. Exercises independent judgment in tasks such as making circuit analysis, calculating waveforms, and tracing relationships in signal flow. Utilizes complex metrology principles to certify/repair instruments such as pressure gages, length measuring devices, vacuum systems, transducers, load cells, high and low volume flowmeters, and torque instruments on a regular basis

EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION, AND REQUIREMENTS:
1. Minimum 3 years' experience as a metrology laboratory technician. Experience to include inspecting, troubleshooting, repairing, overhauling, aligning, calibrating/certifying TMDE, and metrology laboratory working standards. Practices safe work procedures.
2. Good working knowledge of calibration and maintenance of Physical, Dimensional, Mechanical, and/or flow primary measurements standards.
3. Possesses the knowledge required to read and analyze block, schematic, wiring and logic diagrams.
4. Thorough understanding of the requirements of ISO 17025 and T.O. 00-20-14.
5. Good written and oral communication skills.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
Essential/Typical Duties:
• Maintains, repairs and calibrates electronic and physical/dimensional test measurement and diagnostic equipment (TMDE).
• Performs general maintenance and overhaul procedures; and uses TMDE to troubleshoot and repair equipment.

Non-Essential Duties:
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
