Title: Need quick MetCal Assistance
Post by: Hawaii596 on 12-10-2012 -- 09:40:08
I'm not a MetCal Programming wiz, on the road and have a quick technical question of any MetCal Whiz person can assist...

I have a procedure for HP 4155x Semiconductor Parameter Analyzer that worked.  I can't go into particulars for proprietary reasons, but it was written and working under MetCal 7.1.  I am now using it under MetCal 8.0.46 (I think).  There is a function where certified values of resistors in a cal fixture box are entered, then recalled.  There are some current to voltage measurements that use the certified values of 1 Giga Ohm, 10 Giga Ohm, etc. resistances.

Problem is when I run the procedure in MetCal 8, it tells me that iutility.exe is either illegal or not found.  Was iutility.exe replaced by something else, and does that line need to be changed in the procedure?  Or does it need to reside in a different folder in 8.0?  Also, I am running on a Windows 7 laptop compared with previously Windows XP (in the old 7.1).

Any quick help appreciated.  If you want to call me, send me a PM, and I'll give you my cell phone #.  I'll try to watch for it.

Thanks anyone knowledgable for any quick assistance.

Thanks all for the help (not being sarcastic).  Mike, Dave, Larry - Thanks very much for helping out.  Their help didn't get posted here, but I received a few very gracious phone calls.

Procedure is now working.  I combined a couple of inputs and one of them worked.  I still have to figure out which one.  But as I am on site, I don't have time to "look a gift horse in the mouth" (so to speak).  I reset some of the directories as specified in the phone call, so that they were all pointed to the same one, and the iutility file was in that directory.  I also created a c:\metcal\station folder and put a copy in there.  Not sure which worked, but it works.

So, thanks again all.
