ELECTRONICS CALIBRATION TECHNICIAN Join our team of leaders in electrical power system maintenance, repair, testing & training. Due to continued growth, we are seeking an experienced Calibration Technician to work in our Irving (Dallas) Texas office. Shermco Industries is a founding member of NETA and has one of the largest field services divisions in the industry.
Job Responsibilities and Expectations:
• Test, repair and calibrate electrical and power field testing equipment including high-current test units, Hipots, Meggers, Doble relay test sets, CT test sets, and various M&TE such as digital handheld meters, insulation testers, transformer test equipment, and DLRO's
• Support the test equipment needs of field service technicians
Minimum Qualifications to qualify for consideration, you must meet each of the following minimum qualifications and requirements:
• High School Diploma or GED
• Certificate or diploma from a technical trade school a plus (PMEL)
• 5 or more years of related experience; an equivalent combination of education and experience may substitute
• Must be able to read and comprehend schematics and wiring diagrams
• Ability to troubleshoot to the component level
• Experience with and/or knowledge of ISO standards and ANSI Z540-1 calibration principals highly desired
Requirements:
• Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test and periodic, unannounced random drug tests
• Must be able to pass a pre-employment criminal background check
• Must be able to safely lift and move up to 75 lbs., with or without reasonable accommodations. Must be able to pass a fit for duty physical exam
• Must have strong attention to detail
• Must be able to drive a company vehicle on occasion, have a valid driver's license, and currently have and be able to maintain a good driving record.
