Title: How do you service a W&T FA-149 manostat?
Post by: Lost in Place on 08-10-2012 -- 06:25:51
Okay get out the wayback machine.  We are using a Wallace & Tiernan FA-149 Manostat.  It works with one exception, the top adjustment wheel seems to be gummed up.  It is very hard to rotate. I have been unable to locate any service manuals for this unit and was wondering what can I do to this unit to free up the wheel?

spray the wheel with methanol(methyl) alcohol while turning the wheel and let it dry for 20 minutes before using.  some people do acetone first and then methanol, but the acetone would eat up any rubber parts/seals

Sure enough, the manostat cleaned up and with a little oil is working just fine.  Thanks!!!
