Post by: calright on 07-17-2012 -- 17:02:46
Has anybody replaced the cables on one of these active heads?

Thanks

Yes, you will need to crack the seal, but other than that it's pretty straight forward.

open the head by removing right side label (side with serial #)
remove a couple screws and it opens up.
cable has a strain relief held in place with a couple hex or torx screws and cable tip is soldered to a board.
I usually have to remove a bit more insulation from the coax center conductor fo a good fit.
part # is 2058031  about $1200 as of Jan 2012.
