Alaska Metrology & Calibration Services is a small business headquartered in Anchorage, Alaska. We operate a Mobile Calibration Laboratory in the Greater Prudhoe Bay Area. This laboratory provides NIST Traceable calibration services for several oil production companies and their other contractors working in the area. This laboratory is contracted to operate year round and is relocated periodically to different production facilities. Our calibration technicians typically work three-week shifts in Prudhoe Bay, and then take R&R breaks for the next three-weeks. Air-travel from Anchorage to Prudhoe Bay is provided as well as meals and billeting while in Prudhoe Bay. Usually there are two technicians working together, sharing work and responsibilities.
Alaska Metrology & Calibration Services has an immediate opening available for a Calibration Technician to work in our Mobile Laboratory in Prudhoe Bay.
Responsibilities include:
• Work under the rules and regulations of Alaska Metrology & Calibrations Services as well as our customer's, while working from their property.
• Achieve Customer Satisfaction
• Discuss with customers items requiring repair, sub-contracting or limited calibration.
• Achieve timely turn-around of equipment.
• Enter data into our Equipment Tracking Database through a variety of software operations
• Produce Calibration Certificates accurately and efficiently with minimal supervision based upon instrument specifications and approved calibration procedures.
• Performs other laboratory support functions as required
• Calibrate, repair and maintain electrical and electronic test and measuring equipment, such as multimeters, Hi-pot testers and Meggers.
• Calibrate, repair and maintain physical mechanical test and measuring equipment, such as calipers, pressure gauges and torque wrenches.
Qualifications:
• Must be able to plan ahead and operate from a remote Mobile Laboratory environment independently.
• Experience in electrical/electronic calibration (primarily) Experience in physical/dimensional calibration (secondary)
• Military primary laboratory experience a plus (PMEL/TMDE) or four-year degree
• Strong aptitude for computer troubleshooting and repair
• Leadership and communication skills
• Prior lead experience given a high consideration
