Post by: beaglebreath on 04-10-2012 -- 12:34:14
(I originally posted this as a two-week shift, actually three-week on/off)
Alaska Metrology & Calibration Services is a small business headquartered in Anchorage, Alaska.  We operate a Mobile Calibration Laboratory in the Greater Prudhoe Bay Area.  This laboratory provides NIST Traceable calibration services for several oil production companies and their other contractors working in the area.  This laboratory is contracted to operate year round and is relocated periodically to different production facilities.  Our calibration technicians typically work three-week shifts in Prudhoe Bay, and then take R&R breaks for the next three-weeks.  Air-travel from Anchorage to Prudhoe Bay is provided as well as meals and billeting while in Prudhoe Bay.  Usually there are two technicians working together, sharing work and responsibilities.
