We have an opening for an experienced K3-K4 tech in the MacDill AFB PMEL (Tampa, FL). If interested, please forward resumè to site manager Mike Calarco at
[email protected].
what lvl tech are you looking for and what company is running that lab?
i do not know what the K3-K4 desigination means? What areas of expertise are you looking for?
k3 and k4 are AF calibration procedure numbering, as in 33k3-4- and 33k4-4-. k3 is generally electronics and K4 is generally microwave. though k1 and k8 is low freq/dc/multimeter type stuff. (electrical) if the terminology isn't exact, it's close

Elsewhere on the forum I have posted the best I could find who has every contract PMEL. Also Hickam was supposed to go civil service but 00-20-14 doesn't reflect that. I did recently see a CS posting for Hickam though.

The sections are as follows:
K1,K2,K8 DC/Electrical Standards Section
K3,K4 Frequency/RF Section
K5 Temperature/Humidity
K6,K7 Physical Dimensional Test Equipment
K9 Automated Test Equipment
From:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Precision_measurement_equipment_laboratory (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Precision_measurement_equipment_laboratory)
and K9 isn't really used much that I see. Automated procedures end up becoming -10. The K number stems from 00-5-18 I believe. Technical Order Numbering System.
Bionetics corporation is currently running the lab. It is a tech
II position (5 to 7 level) and we would prefer an RF/Microwave tech with somewhat recent PMEL experience especially with the newer standards such as the MMR as we use it on a daily basis.
Any folks seriously interested in the position are
encouraged contact the site manager Mike Calarco at
[email protected] for more specific details.
Broken Wings;
K9 is used frequently. The designation should be Automated Test Stations. These are the big repair and checkout stations at a depot level facility like Hill and Tinker. The K9 procedures are the calibration procedures for these stations.

K7 would be RADIAC which for the AF is only done at the PSL
