Well one never really knows when they will get laid off but when it does it is not a good feeling. I will be actively looking for a new job and hopefully a new lab. I have been in the K6 Primary Standards area for the last 7 years. If any warm weather labs are looking please drop me a line.
The good news about being a calibrator, is we are in high demand. You can find several Opening on Cal Lab Magazine's web site.

Sita is also working on posting another one today in Wison, NC.
For sure there are jobs out there all over the place, if you're willing to relocate, maybe have to make some concessions as far as pay goes. As you probably know the contract labs seem to pay the best especially the union ones, and there is almost always an opening somewhere. Layoffs suck, sort of forces you to be willing to relocate. Rumors are out there, it doesn't sound like you are the only one looking for a new job. Something amiss at the PSL, weren't they just advertising for positions on this forum a short time ago, now layoffs?
Who is hiring in Wison NC? Where is that in the state??
You are correct in that there is something amiss. I think that the money flow got cut off from above. To bad the bad stuff trickles down hill and eventually gets to the techs. I don't mind relocating as being an ex IM1 and moving every 2-5 years I'm kind of used to it and maybe in away looking forward to something new. Thanks for all the replies.
Hey, cs137
You might want to update your e-mail address cause I'm getting PM notifications kicked back. I only mention this in case someone tries to e-mail you about a job via your registered address...
Sita got it posted..
Here is the link for the position in

PM me. I may have something for you here in Tampa. I really need a good ex-IM in my Phys. D. area.
