Good morning,
I recently separated the Air Force with about 5 years of PMEL experience, with the last couple years in RF. It has been a few years since I worked at a PMEL as I cross-trained into another job in mid 2007. I have retained a good amount of electronics knowledge, though ;) I have been successful in any job I do and am a team player. Does anyone out there know of any quality calibration jobs out there willing to take a guy back in?
Appreciate it,
Luke Franzen
Look at any of the contracted PMELs. They all have openings from time to time...and they pay well. I don't think your time outside PMEL will be a hinderance. Good luck
Can you please tell me what area of the country you are looking for a job in?
The Army is periodically looking for calibrators. On www.usajobs.gov look under Job Series 3378 (it used to be 2602). Letterkenny AD in PA should be opening a position in the next couple weeks. It's civil service so you get mediocre pay but great benefits. Also prior military can count their military time towards vacation/retirement and there's lots of advancement potential if you're willing to move around. Make sure your resume has the "key" words from the job posting or you won't get past the computer screening.
Luke, email me a resume. I am hiring PMEL calibrators (contractor) for the USN in San Diego
Email me your resume as we are always looking for calibration technicians.
