Title: Calibration Technician position - FirstEnergy Cleveland, OH

This is an open position with FirstEnergy Nuclear Operating Company (FENOC), a wholly owned subsidiary of FirstEnergy Corp.

This position handles quality-related calibration of measuring and test equipment (M&TE) in a fast paced environment to support various quality standards, including ISO/IEC 17025, and ANSI/NCSL Z540.

Responsibilities include:
- Calibrating and repairing of M&TE using approved procedures for Beaver Valley, Davis-Besse and Perry. Areas of measurement include, but are not limited to: temperature, pressure, voltage, physical-dimensional, mass, weight, resistance, time, frequency, force, torque and vibration
- Performing calibrations using approved procedures, evaluating and interpreting data, making computations and using conversion factors
- Aligning and performing maintenance on test equipment and submitting detailed records of all work performed
- Instructing and training other metrology personnel in the proper use and calibration of M&TE
- Identifying and reporting nonconforming M&TE and performing corrective action(s) required to return the M&TE to established acceptance criteria
- Developing and revising testing procedures

Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED; related Associate's degree and 3.5 years of metrology experience is preferred
- Demonstrated metrology precision measurement equipment laboratory (PMEL) experience is preferred
- Ability to lift 50 pounds
- Able to occasionally travel to Beaver Valley, Davis-Besse and Perry
- Able to obtain unescorted access to the FENOC plants
- Knowledge of metrology practices, policies, techniques and analytical mathematics
- Excellent problem solving skills and initiative to learn
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Excel
- Ability to work independently without direct supervision.
- Strong attention to detail and use of human performance tools
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
