I think there was a thread years ago about using old test equipment as props in movies... Funniest thing I saw was when the NCSLI conference was held in Disneyland in 2008, I went to EPCOT (which was right next to the conference hotel), and inside one of the gift shops was one of those machines that will squash a penny into an oval with a picture on it. The display case on the machine was full of a bunch of old meters, resistors, pressure gauges, etc., and at the top was an old "wet test" meter which measures gas volume in cubic feet.
