Title: What is option H12 on the RF section of HP/8566B
Post by: dminesinger on 06-24-2011 -- 12:47:38
We got a unit in with a repanel tag that says it has option H12 installed. Most likely a military option. Anyone have an ideal what it is.

I'll speculate & guess it's a refurb?
Not a listed option on my old books.

My understanding is that any "H" option on a unit was a one of a kind for the government. All it's info would have been supplied to the government and HP would not have kept a record of it. You will have to see if you can find a lab that has one and might give you the info if they still have it.

Everything I can find on Option H12 points to rear panel connectors, at least for older HP stuff.

BUT, on some of the newer stuff, Agilent power meters for example, it is a specific calibration option that provides for tighter specs.

My money is on the rear panel connectors.

If you have the time, call Agilent. It takes a while to get to a real person, but they have ALWAYS been able to find out what some weird, off the wall option does/did/changed. Might take them a day or two, but better safe than sorry....
