Lockheed Martin MS2 has a rare permanent opening for a Metrologist to provide engineering support to Metrology Technicians and Metrologists in the areas of technical assistance and automated calibration software development to improve laboratory production and efficiency in the calibration and repair of inspection, measuring and test equipment. You will participate in/conduct equipment capital planning activities, internal laboratory and vendor evaluations, and system/personal computer maintenance. Assist/develop Metrology measurement methods, procedures, and measurement uncertainty calculations. Assistance with and maintenance of ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation.
Please note that this position will require Extended Duty (EDY) Assignment to the Minneapolis St. Paul area (Eagan, MN) facility until the end of 2012. The permanent work location for this position is Owego, NY beginning in December of 2012
This position requires a BS Degree in related discipline, such as Engineering, Physics or other Sciences, or equivalent experience. Experience in the calibration and repair of a broad range of inspection, measuring and test equipment. Experience in determining calibration requirements, performing uncertainty calculations, and developing manual and automated calibration procedures. Experience in the use of computers, connectivity, Microsoft Office, instrumentation control utilizing automated calibration software. Familiarity with ANSI Z540 or ISO/IEC 17025 standards.
