Just a general invitation to anyone who might want to join my professional group I recently started on Linkedin[dot]com. If you're a member, feel free to join. It's kind of an experiment to understand how these groups work and what their value is. So I won't make any grandiose claims about what we are doing in the group (nothing, as the only members so far are my site manager and I).
The group is: SEMICONDUCTOR INDUSTRY INSTRUMENT CALIBRATION
You are particularly invited if you are involved in calibrations that relate in any part or in whole to the semiconductor industry. Semiconductor industry calibration support covers a lot of ground. But besides wafer metrology (film thickness, step height, surface particle measurement - none of which is normally done by the local lab), there are covered very low DC currents, very high DC resistances, low capacitances, high accuracy DMM (HP 3458A, etc.), high speed oscilloscopes, Mass Flow Controllers, Capacitance Diaphragm vacuum gauges (measure down to < 1 Torr absolute pressure), various pressure gauges, ESD measurement instruments, pulse/function generators, and many others.
So please feel free to come join. It is an open group. I want to get better networked to other metrology people related to the semiconductor field. This does not particularly involve so called "metrology", which is a function of semiconductor design and fabrication, and is separate from the calibration lab (although such folks are welcome to join as well). I'm looking for PMEL and PMEL types who are interested in networking.
Send me a PM here for any questions.
Well I am in the Group..
But I am not sure how much I want to be involved with a group that would have me as a member!
Ditto. I don't know how much activity will happen how soon. It's kind of an experiment to learn how the groups work. I am a member of a bunch of other groups from all over the world. Thanks for joining.
