Title: When Is Google Street View Doing An Update
Post by: Hawaii596 on 04-01-2011 -- 10:14:45
I have a strange addiction, to google street view.  As an extreme traveler (5 trips to Haiti, 5 trips to India, 3 trips to Guatemala, a month long trip to Asia including China, Malaysia, S. Korea, etc.), and being between trips (no $$ - no dinero), Google Street View helps me get around.  My favorite peaceful little out of the way spot is Cape St. Francis, South Africa (go to 37 St. Francis Way and look at the cool dune buggy in the driveway), I am getting kind of bored.  For any co-workers, I am doing my work, just when I need a little break.  Singapore is nice, and Hong Kong has apparently pretty high resolution photos in some of the areas.  Matter of fact, when we were shopping for a company to buy batteries from in Hong Kong, we actually went and looked at their address to see if they were really there.  There is a small assortment of street views in South America.

So, that all said, anyone know how to figure out when or where they may be planning to add more street view locations?  I

I'm pretty fascinated by the international street views.  I was cruising the main street of Grahamtowne South Africa and figured out where the restaurant district was.  Around Cape St. Francis and the area around Port Elizabeth, I found a good bed and breakfast.

It would be an interesting little contest for fun to see who can come  up with the coolest place in the most remote corner of the globe (of the places covered by Street View).  It's just amazing to me to be able to "drive" down the back streets of small towns on the other side of the earth.
