Title: Fluke 8846A Adjustment
Post by: Hawaii596 on 11-05-2010 -- 11:16:56
My Fluke 8846A's need adjustment.  Although they give you a few scant instructions in the manual, it appears this is software only.

Is there a simple method, variety of methods or what? To elaborate on my question....  Is there a MetCal Procedure, and is that the only way?  Are there a few simple commands I can send over the NI GPIB?  Or are there other options.  Anyone having significant experience , can you let me know how you do it?  Our Fluke Gold membership has lapsed and I think we're getting it back.  I'm wondering if there is a procedure among those available in the Fluke Gold world that does it.  Or if someone has something they want to email, I have MetCal and SureCal.

The other closely related alternative is that if there is a MetCal, I may just buy it by itself (we do have MetCal 7.1).

I am sure the Fluke procedure works.  However, Fluke Gold procedure are geared more towards selling their hardware (i.e. 8508A in this case).  If you are looking for procedure written around your labs existing standards then CLS is the company to choose.

I remember when we did this procedure, because it was the first time we had a procedure ready before Fluke (on a Fluke Instrument).  Now because our customers are the largest rental companies and distributors, we usually have the procedure done, tested and ready to ship before they are available in Fluke Gold.  Our procedures cover 100% of the options and test points in the manual.  And because we work closely with our customers (providing free technical support), we always have the bug fixes related to firmware changes first.

If you are looking for an adjustment procedure, send me ([email protected]).  Also list the standards you have in your lab.

It is software only and there is a Met/Cal gold procedure.

Later firmware versions support calibration adjustment via the front panel...
