Title: Agilent 849X G/H/K series attenuators-plastic connector.
Post by: Bryan on 09-10-2010 -- 20:01:00
I'm referring to the programmable models with the round contol cable connectors.
Anyone know of a source for drop in replacement?
Manual refers you to Viking Industries in Chatsworth CA, I guess they are now part of Cooper Interconnect or something, anyway looks like you have to buy the body, pins & insertion/extraction tool.  Anybody know of a source for drop in replacement already assembled?
Appears at some point in Agilent production the connector went from a piece with studs on the back soldered to a ribbon cable to a plug with wires running out the back to various places in the attenuator, I'm looking for the former.
If not I'll just try to get the parts for several & assemble them myself, anyone done this?  Easy?
Thanks

Ouch, good luck with that one. Can honestly say, I hope I never have to attempt to fix one of those, but somehow I imagine in the next year or so I will have to....... let us know how it turns out if you don't mind. We are seeing more and more of the models with the connector you are talking about....
