Anyone know who does PMEL for FT Hood? I am thinking of moving to that area when I leave this place.
The Army has a few labs on Ft Hood.....
It's TMDE in the Army. Not sure how it runs now, in the 80s each Division (1st Cav/2nd AD) had a detachment from the 95th Maintenance Co located at Redstone Arsenal in Huntsville, AL. Tese were staffed 100% military, there was also the TMDE Support Center that was a civilian staffed outfit. If you search for Ft Hood TMDE Support Center on the net maybe you can find out more. In the 80s I think they were wage grade feds.

When I was at Ft. Lewis, Wa. from 88-92, 95th had a detachment attached to the 9th I.D., staffed by all military, and they also had an all civilian shop called T.S.O. or TMDE Support Operation for all the non divisional work. (Man, I miss those days!) :-D
Now I feel old. I did not know the 95th was still around. I used to teach there back in the early 80s when I came back from Germany.
95th hasn't been around in several years (4 or so??). The Army gave control of the military cal teams back to FORSCOM. So, no more calibration companies, much less battalions (for all you REAL old calibrators). Bad news for military, but GREAT news for civilian calibrators (WG-2602s). Search cpol. army . mil for 2602 positions in the 11/12 grade slots for the area. Jobs come open all the time, just have to catch them when they are open (usually a 2 week window).

Well if I'm any indication you are old. I think the Army calibration program isn't what it used to be, I once found a link with a picture of a graduating class from Redstone, there were about 4 or 5 people and a Sgt Majot that was a spec 6 when I know him, probably dated to mid/late 90s.
