Duties: Serves as a calibration specialist in the parameters of electrical, electronic, microwave, nucleonic, optical/laser, physical and dimensional standards and measurements applicable to the calibration, certification and evaluation of test, measurement and diagnostic equipment (TMDE). Provides calibration traceable through the Army Calibration Laboratory and Army Primary Standards Laboratory to the National Institute of Standards and Technology, and provide information On TMDE accuracies and uncertainties under a variety of conditions. Performs repairs incidental to calibration as required by equipment specifications. Selects, applies, and interprets electronic principles and practices as related to the specialty area as required to collect, reduce, display, analyze data, and provide metrology information for a wide variety of general purpose TMDE. Prepares test certification reports for customer use. Assists and advises users in the instrument application and measurement accuracy.

• QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED: Selectee must have had experience of sufficient scope and quality to be able to perform the duties of the specific position for which you are applying. You must show that you have knowledge, skills and abilities of the Job Elements listed below as they relate to the position for which you are applying. SCREEN OUT ELEMENT: Must be able to perform the duties assigned without normal supervision. Applies a practical knowledge of metrology, electrical, electronic and electromagnetic theories, mechanical, pneumatic and nuclear science to the collection of measurement data. Applies mathematical concepts such as frequency domain analysis, and statistical concepts such as frequency distributions, sampling and sample distributions and presentations of measurement data. Applies a practical knowledge of troubleshooting techniques and practices to repair TMDE. Must be able to interpret technical procedures and schematics and adapt them to diverse and complex calibrations assignments. PHYSICAL DEMANDS The work may require long periods of standing or sitting along with some walking or bending, during the course of extended periods on measurements. Requires frequent lifting, carrying, and handling of items weighing up to 40 pounds with occasional requirements to lift items in excess of 50 pounds. WORKING CONDITIONS The work is performed in laboratories and user facilities where technicians are exposed to the hazards of high voltage, high pressure, high, and low, temperatures, chemicals and radiation. Calibrators must comply with all safety regulations applicable to the calibration mission.

Ability to use and maintain appropriate tools and equipment. Ability to read, understand, and apply instruction and other materials related to the job.

• Permanent Change of Station (PCS) allowances may be authorized, subject to the provisions of the Joint Travel Regulations and an agency determination that a PCS move is in the Government interest.
