Procedure work would include develop uncertainty analysis to support compliant and accredited calibrations internally generated, or to validate measurements from external procedures.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Author, analyze, or technically approve manual and automated calibration procedures 50%
2. Support aerospace quality system: documentation, internal audits, supplier quality 25%
3. Provide T&M product and calibration quality control, internal and external technical support 20%
4. Perform other tasks as assigned and/or assist remote locations as needed. 5%
QUALIFICATIONS
1. Bachelor Degree in applied physics, electronic technology, metrology; PMEL or equivalent.
2. Calibration laboratory experience normally gained through four years working in a technical metrology capacity and two years supervisory experience. ASQ CQE or CCT certification preferred.
3. 2 years quality audit experience or able to meet ASQ CQA certification within one year of hire.
4. Proven interpersonal skills as supervisor or lead position required.
5. Good written and oral communication skills and ability to teach technical skills.
6. Project management and planning ability.
7. Must be able to travel ten percent of the time.

Hi All,
Thanks for reply. We're continuing with quality engineer as the job title.
Should be posted soon on Electro Rent Corporation website and other places soon after.
Van Nuys California is the lab location. San Fernando valley just above Los Angeles.
We are primarily an aerospace test equipment rental company and the environment is fast paced.
The equipment is generally current product.
We use lots of cal automation to ensure all tests are done and done right the first time.
No one's perfect but we aim for it.
Appreciate the responses.
For those who don't know me I was one of the USMC Grads from basic PMEL course in Lowry in 1978 & DOD AIMS in 1980.
Worked Type IV and Type III labs in Iwakuni and Cherry Point. Worked as a cal tech and other roles for GE in the southeast.
Electro Rent bought GE Rents in 1997. Have been in lab quality roles for them since.
