Post by: airbud on 01-28-2010 -- 14:54:37
At the risk of getting jumped yet again i ask you guys another question.  Has anyone as of yet tried to run the PM2 (HP Basic/RMB) on vista and succeeded? I think i will need to use dos box or something of the sort.  Any help would be appreciated.

I remember when Windows 95 first came out..  People called it a 32 bit os, that runs on 16 bit core using a 8 bit file system written by a 2 bit company.  (Just had to say that..)

In layman's terms.

The problem is computers have changed over the past 15 years.  Microsoft and other companies are slowly phasing a lot of legacy code (i.e. the 8 and 16 bit stuff).

Back in the DOS days, an application could talk directory to hardware.  Today, there is several layers of drivers between an application and hardware.  To maintain backwards compatibility emulation drivers are used to bridge the gap.

Usually manufacturer's will get beta versions of the new OS, and make sure their software runs on the new OS.  Sense RB is older than dirt, I am guessing no one has seen value in bridging the gap.

That is my 2 Cents.
