Title: Anyone Ever Try Swoopo[dot]com Website?
Post by: Hawaii596 on 09-14-2009 -- 11:08:17
I joined a few weeks ago trying to find a cheap deal on a laptop for my son (in college).  People who have been to the site love it or hate it.

I'm still mixed.  I've won twice (small things), but I can see undisciplined people dumping a tone of money down the drain.

I am not advertising for the site.  I would say beware.  You can get really cheap deals if you're savvy and lucky, and lose a lot if you're not.

Never heard of that one.

I picked up my last laptop off www.woot.com, a refurbished HP.  They have a sister site at sellout.woot.com and there's always www.zerodaydeals.com

These sites are good just have to wait for what you're looking for to show up, might take a week or two.

My manager uses woot.  I haven't tried it yet.  I'll have to check that one out.

Ok isnt that the ebay wanna be auction site that charges you like 25 cents each time you bid?? If it is the one I heard of I saw an article saying that some people were paying crazy high prices because of the bid price? I mean once you bid 1000 times and have $250 in it already why not just keep bidding? The bidding stays open until people stop bidding. Sounds like you have to get really lucky and be EXTREMLY disciplined on that one?
