Post by: Hoopty on 12-14-2004 -- 07:16:39
If English is not your native language, you can still read our forum!  Check out these pages for a translation...

French

Spanish

German

Italian

I thought that this was kind of cool.

Is this site even legal in China?  :? They might not like the free exchange of thoughts and ideas that takes place here.

We're #1 for the term "PMEL" on the Chinese search engine Baidu (http://www.baidu.com/s?wd=pmel&cl=3)

What? No Japanese?

I can't actually read Japanese (too many characters). I'm just been fascinated by Japan most of my life. :-D

I was working a diaper job in Italy for P&G, and was in a meeting one day with the Italians discussing the product characteristics of the diapers.  One of the attributes is "BM Containment."  My interpretor, Sara, gave me a quizzical look as she tried, in vain, to simultaneously repeat my commentary to the Italians.  There is no direct translation in Italian to "bowel movement," so she ad libbed something as close to it as she could get, after leaning over and whispering in my ear, "What's a BM??"  Her and I had a good laugh over that after the meeting was over...

I know a bunch of technicians who would love a job that involved repeatedly saying the words "bowel movement".

The best part of that job was having a sexy Italian interpretor whispering in your ear for an hour- actually made the long meetings fun to go to!  Practicing the self-control all that time reinforced your willpower quite a bit...
