METROLOGIST JOB DESCRIPTION

JOB FUNCTION: To apply measurement science, mathematics, and physics to design, document, and analyze calibration systems, procedures, and measurement and test equipment. 

TOOLS/MACHINES/ EQUIPMENT USED: Electronic, optical, dimensional, physical, mechanical, and chemical standards equipment.  Microsoft computer system, M&TE tracking system. 

SKILLS AND/OR REQUIREMENTS:
BS Degree in Engineering Sciences or related discipline and a minimum of 2 yrs exp with calibration techniques.  Basic troubleshooting skills with measurement and process equipment.  Familiar with primary and secondary calibration standards.  Must have organizational skills, blueprint reading skills, statistical knowledge, ability to work with others at all levels, PC skills, metrology skills, and good written and oral communications skills. 

Success Factors include: Performance in Accordance with Company Values, Job Skills/Knowledge, Communication, Teamwork, Results Ownership and Adaptability.  Candidate must have strong Physical Dimensional Calibration skills. 

Alternative Requirements: PMEL Certification and 4+ yrs of exp.
