Title: Safe cleaning solution for Dial indicators
Post by: rdavecook on 05-08-2008 -- 07:42:58
Just Curioius. . . . . .

I am looking for a cleaning solution for Dial Indicators that will not damage the Dial Face.  I know NAPTHA works well but the cheif at my lab is hesitant on obtaining it due to the health hazards.  Does anyone have any suggestions? Ethyl Alcohol is what we are using now, but it will damage the dial face if you are not extremely careful.

Crest toothpaste and a lint free cloth works well.   And not the gel type.

White toothpaste is good, I am fond of Brasso also.

Toothpaste for removing small scratches.  Then use windex on a cotton swab.  Nails.

Don't the nails add more scratches? :-D
