As a subsidiary of Goldbelt, Inc., Goldbelt Integrated Logistics Services is a  8(a) Alaska Native Corporation providing logistics, engineering and technical services tailored to the defense, security, aerospace and environmental markets.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Metrology Technician will support the Federal Aviation Administration’s Mike Monroney Aeronautical Logistics Center providing calibration and TMDE repair services primarily in a laboratory environment. Applies advanced technical knowledge to solve complex problems that typically cannot be solved solely by referencing manufacturer’s manuals or similar documents.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
Troubleshooting, tear-down, repair, refurbishment, overhaul, assembly, testing, and calibration of test equipment
Prototype and Modification testing and Evaluation
Maintains, repairs and calibrates Test Measurement and Diagnostic equipment (TMDE).
Performs general maintenance and overhaul procedures; and uses TMDE to troubleshoot and repair equipment.

REQUIREMENTS:

Metrology Technician III – 10 Years of Experience - Must have knowledge and performed the following activities. Technicians select, modify, set-up, calibrate, install, and operate a variety of precision measurement equipment including special test stations and mockups in support of laboratory tests or prototype and first-article acceptance and calibration tests. Technician must have experience maintaining calibration reference standards, transferring the integrity of reference standards to working standards, develop new calibration methods when not specified or well established. Technicians exercise skill in using computer systems and software to maintain a calibration recall system, maintain records and work control documents, isolate defects in unconventional specialized equipment, and develop procedures, schematics and diagrams.
Possesses the knowledge required to read and understand schematic and wiring drawings.
Thorough understanding of the requirements of ISO-9001/IEC 17025 and ANSI/NCSL Z540-1.
Good written and oral communication skills

Preferred:           
Associates Degree in a related field or commensurate experience.
Completion of a DoD “A” School in Metrology or related field of study.
Specialized experience supporting FAA specific systems a plus.
