E5500 Phase Noise Measurement System Software
« on: 05-21-2019 -- 21:17:59 »
Beware of ETIMS latest and greatest listed version for 33K4-4-9013-10, A.04.05.0010.
The original EDD for the dvd was 1/30/2018 and is currently listed as 1/30/2019.
Having grown weary of waiting for the disk, we downloaded it from Keysight and updated our system.
Other than the random header errors it seemed to be working fine. Then an Anritsu MG3694C with options 2b, 3, & 4 came in for calibration and would not pass the 1 MHz offset check for 25 GHz. The expected was <-119 dBc and we were seeing -109 dBc.  We sent it to Anritsu for repair & CAL.  They found no problems.  We checked it and got the same failure as before.  Then we asked the Organic lab to check it and it passed with no problem measuring <-129 dBc.  Having identical phase noise systems, we were curious how it passed for them and not us, so we went to see what they might have done differently than we had.  The only difference we found was they were still using the old CPIN version of the system software.  When we got back to our lab, we rolled our system back to A.04.05.0007 version, downloadable from METWEB's 9000 page, and got the same results they did.
