Job Description:

Position requires experience in metrology principles as applied to all measurement disciplines. Position requires recent extensive experience in the K5/K6 (Physical-Dimensional) section of the Precision Measurement Equipment Laboratory (PMEL) and recent moderate experience in the K3/K4 (RF)  section.  This Technician in this position will mostly calibrate/repair  Test Measurement and Diagnostic Equipment (TMDE) to include linear, pressure, mass, force, vacuum, torque, frequency, power and phase noise TMDE. Will assist other calibration sections as workload permits. 

Maintain, repair, and calibrate electronic, electro-mechanical, physical, dimensional, mass, weight, balance, flow, temperature, thermocouple, mechanical, optical, frequency and power TMDE. 

Exercise independent judgment in tasks such as making circuit analysis, calculating waveforms, and tracing relationships in signal flow. 

Utilize TMDE to troubleshoot and repair systems and circuit boards to component level, to include surface-mount technology. 

Capture test readings using common instruments such as oscilloscopes, digital multi-meters, pulse generators, power meters, torque, temperature, and pressure measurement devices. 

Ensure work is reviewed for compliance with accepted practices. 

Possess ability to read, interpret, and analyze block, schematic, and wiring diagrams, blueprints, and technical publications. 

Perform general maintenance and overhaul procedures. 

Operate under immediate supervision and achieve technical guidance, as required, from supervisor or higher-level technician. 

Provide technical guidance, if required, to lower level technicians. 

Perform additional duties as directed by supervisor.

Required Skills/Experience:   Proven record of honesty and integrity in all relationships. 

High School diploma or equivalent. 

Minimum of four (4) years PMEL or calibration technical experience. 

Experience to include inspecting, troubleshooting, repairing, overhauling, aligning, calibrating, and certifying TMDE, and metrology laboratory working standards. 

Moderate knowledge of electrical, electronics, electro-mechanical, mechanical, physics, and optics, and thermal principles; mathematics and number systems. 

Moderate knowledge of electrical theory, electronics and/or physics, and operating principles of TMDE. 

Good organizational skills, with the ability to establish priorities. 

Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. 

Will be required to obtain a security clearance.

Desired Skills/Experience: Formal USAF PMEL School with experience in USAF PMEL

Other Notes/Direction:

1. Must be a U.S. Citizen. 

2. Must be eligible for or have successfully completed a National Agency Check investigation within the last ten (10) years. 

3. Thorough understanding of T.O. 00-20-14 

4. Thorough understanding in the care and use of TMDE 

5. Good working knowledge of the calibration and maintenance of physical, dimensional, mechanical and optical TMDE and calibration laboratory measurement standards 

6. Good working knowledge of electrical, electronics, electromechanical, mechanical, physics, optics and thermal principles; mathematics and number systems 

7. Knowledge of electrical theory, electronics and/or physics, and operating principles of TMDE 

8. Knowledge required to read, interpret and analyze block, schematic and wiring diagrams, blueprints and technical publications 

9. Proficiency in troubleshooting techniques; calibration traceability, metrology techniques and safe laboratory practices 

10. Competent with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word)

Does anyone have the latest CBA for ACC contract PMELs?
