Precision Measurement Equipment Calibrator

SALARY RANGE: $22.26 to $25.96 / Per Hour

POSITION INFORMATION: Full Time - Permanent

DUTY LOCATION:  Letterkenny Army Depot, PA United States

Serve as a calibration specialist in the parameters of electrical, electronic, microwave, physical and dimensional standards and measurements applicable to the calibration, certification and evaluation of unusually complex high precision calibration laboratory reference standards. Performs calibration and isolates malfunctions of unusually complex and unique precision measurement standards which are utilized at lower echelon Army calibration laboratories. Calibrates customer test, measurement, and diagnostic equipment (TMDE) requiring measurement accuracies only available at the reference laboratory level. As workload permits, may also calibrate and perform incidental repair of general or special purpose TMDE. Perform inter-laboratory comparisons of reference level standards with other Army reference laboratories to validate accuracy. Selects, applies, and interprets metrology principles and practices as related to the specialty area as required to collect, reduce, and display actual data, and provide information for a wide variety of TMDE, while ensuring documentation conforms to Quality Systems requirements. Prepares test and certification reports for customer use, providing specific information such as assigned values, corrections, and measurement uncertainties for instruments being calibrated.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
Ability to the work of a Precision Measurement Equipment Calibrator without more than normal supervision such as past experience and/or training performing tasks which demonstrate the ability to use of precision measurement equipment and application of trade techniques to solve unusual calibration problems; analyze schematic drawings, compares design specifications with measurement requirements, and recommends modifications to equipment and procedures to meet measurement goals.
