The model 5156DR has been released to production and ready to fill a much needed void in calibration laboratories requiring the proper standard(s) for calibrating Keithley electrometers, picoammeters, femptoammeters & sources.

The model 5156DR electrometer calibration standard has been developed as a direct drop-in replacement for the Keithley 5156 that was discontinued in 2004.  A variety of accessories can be ordered depending on the specific meter(s) requiring support.

Plans are under way to offer a full line of 5155 high resistance standards replacements as well as a variety of other high quality, reasonably priced, standard air resistors.  The Keithley model 6430 requires separate, stand alone 1TΩ & 10TΩ standards to perform the proper calibration.

Oh Great!!Another calibrator for another Meter. The cost of the calibrator will not justify the means.

I'm confused.

The 5156 had a 100nF cap, right?

The pic of the box on your data sheet has a 100 nF cap on it, but the specs table lists a 10 nF cap.

Just a typo on the spec sheet?

 huh

Jeff,

Are you still working for Measurements International or are you on your own now?

Great reponses...glad to see the DC & Low forum with some activity!  Let's see...

I'm no longer with Measurements International and yes, I've started my own company as well as working with Custom-Cal.  If anyone is looking for an objective opinion on resistance standards I'll be more than glad to help. wink

Good eyes CalibratorJ you are correct the the value is 100nF, strictly a typo which I'll have to correct.

In regards to just another calibrator, I'm releasing this at the same price it was in 2004 when it was discontinued.  Also if you add up the price of four stand alone standard air resistors it would be much more than the price of this box. I guess it would also depend on the number of meters requring support or whether this would be an improvement to current methodologies.

FYI - I will be exhibiting this product at the upcoming NCSL conference in Providence.  Stop by booth #102 (Custom-Cal) to see it in person!

Thanks for your comments...Jeff
