Responsible for the development and documentation of Air Force calibration technical orders. Develops, writes and edits material for technical orders. Observes production and developmental activities to determine operating procedure and detail. Interviews production and engineering personnel and reads journals, reports, and other materials to become familiar with specific product technologies and production methods. Reviews manufacturer's and trade catalogs, drawings and other data relative to operation, maintenance, and service. Studies blueprints, flow charts, drawings, parts lists, specifications to integrate technology, operating procedure, and production sequence and detail. Organizes material and completes writing assignment in accordance with set standards regarding order, clarity, conciseness, style, and terminology.
Minimum 3 years experience in Technical Order development. Completion of DOD PMEL school and completion of the USAF PMEL Technician in-residence course highly desirable. Must have good understanding of the Technical Order development process. Good working knowledge of the operation and calibration of RF & Microwave instruments such as spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, signal generators, poser meters in addition to general purpose instruments such as oscilloscopes, electronic counters, digital multimeters, etc. Good understanding of Test Accuracy Ratios calculations, Root Summed Squared (RSS) calculations, and equipment substitution calculations desired. Excellent written and oral communication skills required. Demonstrated proficiency with MS Office software, specifically Word and Excel.
